Monthly goal: January 2021

Hello all!!! And just like that, it is the 20th day of 2021.  Definitely late to the new years resolutions/goals/whatever we are calling them this year.  I have been trying to deal with life everyone else hence is way I did not post the last month or so of 2020. At the end of 2020, I was debating how I wanted to tackle some of the things that I wanted to do in 2021. I have three to four big goals for myself in 2021. Each month though, I am going to post some two to three smaller goals to help me get to my bigger goals for the year. Below are the goals for January 2021:

Cut back on coffee
I really never drank coffee on a normal basis until late 2019. There was a point in mid 2020 where, if I had coffee after 2pm I would be up all night or if I had it before 12pm, I would want to fall asleep about three hours after drinking it. Turns out, that they recommend not drinking coffee if you are taking the thyroid medication that I was on (I have since changed the brand due to a recall in November of 2020). I was also starting to have trouble sleeping, only getting four to five hours of sleep a night.

Since January 1st, I have not had any coffee. So far I am not as tired as I used to be. I am trying to get at least seven to eight hours of sleep a night too. I have been drinking tea & more water so, I will not know that it is truly helping until probably February or March. Until then though no more coffee for me.

Read 4 books
At the beginning of 2020, I was all about reading 52 books last year. Long story short, most definitely did not happen. This year, I am going to try to read four books a month instead. That seems like a more realistic goal for me at the moment. If I do read more, great but if not I would not feel like I am a failure for not completing it. At the end of the month, I will be sharing the four books that I read. If anyone has any suggestions on some books, let me know.

Semi-dry January
This is not a complete dry-January because I knew there would be times that I would have to have one drink (like for my podcast on Wednesdays).  I will openly admit, there was a point in the summer I was drinking a glass of wine five-six time a week. I was planning on cutting back on my drinking anyway so, this was a perfect time to start. I decided to try not to drink any during the week expect for Wednesday & one day on the weekends. Even then, if I do not feel like drinking, I am not going to.

I am going to start posting more regular again. There are some different subjects & topics that I am going to write about besides fitness & quotes. Most of them are going to be on the things that I am into at the moment: skincare, crystals, chakra balancing, & food. Sometime this year I am going to redo the blog again but that is dependent on a bunch of things happening.

Until next time, Peace & blessings all!!!
