Thoughtful Thursday

Happy last Thursday of April. It's hard to believe that in two days May will be here. I have been feeling the sting of pollen season. So, for the last almost two weeks I've been trying to deal with it. Other than that, it's that same old stuff: trying to finish reading my stack of books, baking/cooking/some mixology, working out. I've also been meditating two times a day & journaling daily. Doing this has helped me get out some thoughts & get some clarity on somethings in my life. Here are some quotes & thoughts for today:

I'll probably post some articles that I've liked from the last few weeks tomorrow. If not, I'm going to post some of the things that I've been working on that I've been to busy to post. Until then, peace & blessing all.

Thoughtful Thursday

Happy Thursday!!! This week has flown by. Not going to lie, I had planned on doing most of my spring cleaning this week. That has not happened yet, so I'm doing a good amount of it today. Other than that, I plan on doing a bit of baking that I've put off until now. Still working on finishing my books but keep getting side tracked with other task. I'm going to continue doing quotes from Mark Twain for the next couple of weeks. Here are the quotes for today below:

Have a great Thursday. Peace & Blessings, everyone.

Spring Cocktail Recipes

Since it is officially Spring, I thought I'd share some cocktail recipes. I've been playing with some new one for the last couple of weeks. I'll probably share those sometime this month. Here are a few that I found & want to make from Allrecipes & Town & Country:

I'm going to spend the weekend getting the ingredients to make some of these. I'll give an update if & when I make them. Until next time, Peace & Blessings, all.

Thoughtful Thursday

Happy Thursday. Almost the end of the week. Trying to finish some books. Actually, I'm trying a new way of getting through reading my books. So far, it has been working. Other than that, just doing the spring cleaning/ purging of all the items that I haven't used in forever or need to get rid of. Starting this Thursday, I'm going to be posting quotes from The Wit & Wisdom of Mark Twain. Here are some quotes/thoughts for this week:

Not going to post on Friday for a moment since I actually posted earlier this week. Next week I'm going to share some of the food items that I've been using plus some cocktail recipes I've been making. Until then, Peace & Blessings, all.

Recent Influenster Beauty Product Review

Happy Hump Day!!! Today, I'm sharing some of the items that I received from Influenster. From time to time, they send me surveys based off my interest. I received these a while ago but, was waiting for a time to post about them with everything going on. Here are the items & my brief review of each:

The perfume has hints of Rose, Jasmine, Musk, & Vanilla. I didn't like how strong the Rose was. The Jasmine & Vanilla were not a strong which I liked. Personally, I feel like rose scent can go either one of two ways: smelling like you are wearing your grandmother's perfume or like a garden. With this, one spritz will work best, anymore than that & you'll up in the grandmother's perfume territory.

COVERGIRL Simply Ageless

The three of these items were sent as set. The way I use them is usually putting the eye creams, then the blurring serum, & lastly the pressed powder after I put on the rest of my make-up.

Blurring Serum & Eye Lift Serum

The Blurring Serum
It is supposed to minimizes & blur pores to create a smooth, soft-focus effect on the face. Also, it helps with the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles. This goes on really smooth. I used a small amount to cover my whole face before I apply my sunblock. It has a texture that is light & non-sticky.

Eye Lift Serum
Helps with reduced lines, wrinkles, & puffy under-eye bags. I use a pea-size drop on my fingertip. You are supposed to start at the corner of the eye, sweeping out & upward. It's supposed to give the eye area a little lift. The one thing that I don't like about it is that on darker skin it dries where you can see it when it finishes drying.

Instant Wrinkle Blurring Pressed Powder

Contains Vitamin C & Hyaluronic Acid in it. Reduces fine lines, wrinkles, & the look of pores. For me, this powder left my face feeling smooth & soft. It also did make my pores look less visible.

Anti-Aging Skincare Rejuveness Advanced Hydrating Night Cream

Pond’s Advanced Hydrating Night Cream is to be used for reducing the look of wrinkles, hydrating the skin, & to help slow down new signs of aging. The main things that I didn't like about this was the smell & how heavy it was. The night cream was oily also. It did keep my skin moisturized once I applied it to my face & neck. Since, it was in the Winter months when I received this, I was fine with the oily factor (I have combination skin where it is drier in the Winter).

This was just a brief overview of the products that I tried. If I were to buy any of these, I would probably by the powder or the blurring serum. Those two products did exactly at the description of them said they would. Others probably will like different ones of these products but that maybe is due to it their needs being different from mine. Anywho, Peace & Blessings, all.

I received this product for reviewing purposes. This is my own personal opinion of the product.

April 2021 goals

Happy first week of April. Today, I'm going to share three of the goals that I've made for myself for the month of April. Last month, not going to lie: total forgot about my March goals. I was too busy focusing on trying to finish all the books from January & February (which I'll be sharing next week). I just got busy with life. Here are my goal for April 2021:

Make self-care time
One of the things that I'm trying to work on is making more time for myself. I've realized that I never get things done for myself due to me trying to help others first. I know this is going to sound selfish, but I'm going to start putting myself & goals first. I'm going to start mediating more, get back into handlettering, catch up on reading & finally do some deep spring cleaning of old clothes (i.e. things that I weirdly enjoy).

Be Consistent
Still failing at this. I'm going to try to make a routine for myself again. When I was working, I had a set routine for EVERYTHING!!! After I became unemployed & the pandemic hit, my routines went a the door. I'm trying to get back to being organized & not being a whole train-wreck again. The things I'm going to try to focus on this month are setting a wake-up & bedtime along with a time I go workout everyday.

Move More
I've been working out 4 to 5 times a week, but once I get home I sit in one spot for the most part. I'm going to try to move around more during the day. So, my goal is to get at least 12,000 steps daily. Which leads me to adding more cardio into my life again. I've always been super heavy on weight-training since forever. Moving more is going to help me get my much needed cardio in plus it'll be an excuse to go outside to get air.

So for my March Goals. Be consistent is a carry-over from the last two months, I think. At this point, until I get my life back into a rhythm, I'm going to continue having it as a goal to hold my self accountable. I did up my physical activity. I went from working out 3 to 4 times a week to almost everyday. I'm trying to get in a one to days of just cardio. That hasn't happened yet but I'm doing better. Lastly, for the most part, I've been more positive. When people start being negative, I tell them nicely that I don't want any negativity in my space. Taking that approach has be the one that has worked best for me at the moment.

Other than that, there are some other goals that I'm working towards (one or two maybe on my May 2021 list).  Have a great Monday. Peace & Blessings, all!!

Weekends Reads

Happy Friday!!! This week has been kind of a blur for me. I feel like I've been on a never-ending hamster wheel the last few weeks. On the plus side, it is getting a little bit warmer here. I'm over the cold & winter. This weekend is going to be full of reading, writing, trying to finish my business plan, & enjoying the weather. Here are some articles that I thought were interesting & wanted to share today:

Some alternative to plastic storage containers.

If you are wanting to try to make something besides food with ingredients found in your kitchen.

Benefits of Lemon Rind.

Snacks to try from Amazon that Dietitians recommend.

6 Steps to help with negativity.

Next week, I'm going to share my goals for April. Consistency is still one of those goals along with some new ones. Until next week, everyone have a great weekend. Peace & Blessings, all!!!

Thoughtful Thursday

Happy April & Thursday. I can't believe that we are already four months into 2021. I'm just sitting on a bunch of post at the moment. I'll be the first to admit that it's because I've been unmotivated & busy being other people's "errand girl". I've decided that I need to do more self-care for myself. There are a few hobbies that I want to get back into doing this Spring. I'm going to work on making time to do them again. We'll see what happens. Until then, here are some thoughts/quotes for today:

I might post tomorrow since, I'm going to try to post at least three days a week in April. Hey, if I'm feeling really bold, I may post four days. Have a great day. Peace & Blessings, all.
