I'm back, kinda.......

It has been about four months since I blogged last. Let's just say the only people that see me are my co-workers (who just so happen to be my friends) and my classmates at school. I actually should be studying right now considering I have a test tomorrow, Wednesday, two on Friday, and an outline due Thursday (queen of slackers here).
I have tons of pictures and stories about what has been going on in the last three and half months but until I have time to upload all those pictures I'll just keep reading all of your blogs. Literally that is all I have time to do these days: read books. Guess I am going to be a good student and study for my food science test now. Yay, to learning about cooking equipment!!!

Until next time, Later!!!!

Food Plans

I hope everyone has had a great July 4th holiday. I literally have been sitting around doing nothing but hanging out (I did have to work the day before and after the holiday) watching bad television and playing on pinterest.

While on pinterest, I have found some new foods that I am going to make sometime this week. I am on hardcore lose weight mode after I gained 2 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I think it might have to do with the Mexican food and all those top shelf margaritas I have been drinking every Wednesday for the last month and a half.

Anywho, I have cutout all sugar from my diet (goodbye Keebler rainbow chips deluxe and twix), am trying to cut back on my carb intake for right now, and cutting down my salt intake. I am also going  to the gym five days a week. That was my quick rant of today but here are some of the foods that I am making this week and will probably post pictures of after I make them.

"LOADED" CAULIFLOWER. (Low Carb)
Loaded Cauliflower
I am addicted to loaded mash potatoes. I though I would try these since I have heard people (including my sister who is a vegan now) say that cauliflower is a really goo replacement for potatoes since you still get the fullness you would get with the actual ones.

WHITE QUESO DIP....white American Cheese from the deli, a can of diced jalepenos, and heavy cream. Cook on low until everything is melted.
White Queso Dip
I know that this is not the healthiest thing but I already made this once before and it is so good. All it is White American Cheese, diced jalapenos, and heavy cream. The important thing to remember about this though is to make sure to use the same brand of cheese throughout (I used Cabot the first time then I used cheese from the deli another time). If you do not then it will get super oil and clump together.

 Tomato & Cucumber Salad recipe
Tomato & Cucumber Salad
This is super easy to make and all you really need are tomatoes, cucumbers, extra virgin olive oil and seasoning. I actually am going to add feta cheese in it.

Zucchinni cups.
Zucchini cups
I will probably do these with bell peppers since that is what I have at home right now but these look really yummy. I might try doing the zucchini, not sure yet though.

I will eventually start eating sugar every now and then (which if you see my boards on pinterest, you see that is a majority of my food pins). That's it for now, everyone enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Laters......

What I am using lately

So, I have used a lot of skincare product over the years ( I have weird skin where my face is combination but the rest of my body is super dry) and since I started working at the spa I have been trying to use some of the products we sell.

One of the main lines we sell is Revision.  I was fortunate enough to not only try but get a few products for free from the our sales rep when she came in to show us some of the line so we knew more about it. Here are a few of the items that I started using since then:

Brightening Facial Wash

I have seen a change in my skin since I started using this. I was originally go to use Obagi but one of Estheticans told me that I did not need to since I do not have any skin issues. I also learned that you should not use toner that you buy at the Supermarket because the alcohol in it strips your skin. Learn something new everyday working in a spa.

Multi-Protection Broad-Spectrum SPF 50

Multi-Protection Broad-Spectrum SPF 50
I actually got this product for free. When the sales rep came she gave the Intellishade (which I wrote about a while ago) to some of the girls that I work with. With the Intellishade it is meant for lighter skin since it is tinted, which I do not need. The moisturizer is meant for darker or drier skin. I usually do not use moisturizer but I actually like this product. I put it on after my eye cream in the morning and do not have to use other sunblock (even though sometimes I still do). Also, it last about a month or two depending on your usage.

Teamine Concealer

Teamine Concealer

I also got some of this concealer when I was given the moisturizer and it works great. I know upstairs (we have a cosmetic surgery part upstairs) that after people get injections or eye lift that they recommend that they buy this and the eye cream. It works great for dark circle under the eyes (which I get sometimes because of my allergies).

That's it for now. I know I do not lead a super exciting life but I seriously think if I told you some of the stories of things that have happened here at my job Bravo would give us our own show. Until next time, Laters.....

New Buys

I have been shopping a lot lately. Considering where I work is right beside Maggie Moos and in an outdoor mall, I think I would rather spend money on clothing than a pint of ice cream. Anywho, here are some of the new items that I just bought in the last couple of days:

Women's The Diva Cut-Off Denim Shorts (3-1/2
I bought these at Diva cutoffs at Old Navy when they were having the 30% off sale this weekend. I want in for the white ones, but they were super funky fitting. Also, I would recommend buying a size up because they run small.

Women's Fit & Flare Tee Dresses
I also bought this Fit and Flare dress for work. I tried some other "skater" dresses on at other places and this one is the perfect length (it hits right above the knee). I also bought a set of earrings at
the store that they do not sell online.

And next week I am buying all of this since Old Navy is has 40% off their women's active clothing.

And I went to JCPenney and bought 3 shirts for under $30. If you have not been in there lately, they redone the whole homes section where the sell a lot of designers who use to be at Target:

My boyfriend is wanting this Michael Graves Decanter real bad.

And some other kitchen items that he is making to like:

They selling everything there now including Alder's furniture and some other new brands. That's it for today. My birthday is tomorrow and I have the day off. WHAT WHAT!!!! Until next time, Laters......

A casual investment piece

I really did not have a Memorial Day really. I worked Sunday and Yesterday so I did my "celebrating" on Saturday.  I went on Lake Guntersville with my boyfriend and our friend whose family has a house at the lake. The point of this post is to say this: Columbia PFG's are awesome. I wore one of the ones I own Saturday at the lake and let's say if I would have wore another shirt I would have been out of commission and not in a happy mood the rest of the day.

I wore Men's Bonehead long-sleeve shirt in Vivid Blue (I guess it's the ADPI in me that is drawn to this color blue).
Men’s Bonehead™ Long Sleeve Shirt
Now you might be wondering why I wore a long sleeve shirt (I also wore leggings) in North Alabama when it's 80 outside. I have grass allergies real bad and if I am out in it long enough I start breaking out in hives. Anywho, I went on my friend's dad boat (which is one of seven, not sure why one man needs seven boats) and preceded to get smacked in the face with the tube wasting my Landshark all over my shirt.

I dry myself off then I end up dropping a bunch of Tostitos on it. Wiped myself off for the second time.
TOSTITOS® Salsa Con Queso

The day of spilling things on myself was not over. I then sat down to eat a half of steak and some barbecue chicken when I waste A1, Dale's sauce (I was in the kitchen getting something when I accidentally hit the open container of it), and barbecue sauce all over my shirt.
Original Dale's Seasoning (Case of 12/16 oz.)  KRAFT BARBECUE SAUCE - BARBECUE SAUCE - LIGHT ORIGINAL

Lastly, I decided to make me a drink the was pineapple, Patrón Reposado , and Patrón Citrónge which is a Patrón Pineapple (I did not use the silver thought). End up spilling on me due to some cute but excited dogs.

A PFG is a great investment if you do not have one (especially if you are accident prone like me). I think it is a great weekend shirt over shorts or with legging.

Until we meet again, Laters.......

What I've been up to: Part 2

Like I said in the last post I have been working A LOT so I have started accumulating some of the products we sell at the spa. Since we are a cosmetic surgery also we sell a good deal of skincare products along with the other products we sell. These are some of the ones I have bought/ plan on buying myself in the next month or so:
Moroccanoil® Treatment
Moroccanoil Treatment
One of the hair stylist suggested I use this and it has been doing wonders for my hair. It has shine back in it and its' not as dull as it was before.
Hydrating Conditioner Hydrating Shampoo

Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner
I am suppose to eventually start using this after I am done using the oil. I have extremely dry hair and it suppose to help bring moisture back into my hair. I'll let you know how it works once I start using it.

Obagi Cleanser and Toner
Nu-Derm TonerNu-Derm Gentle Cleanser - For Normal to Dry Skin
This is suppose to be the best skincare system around. I was told that this is the best toner to use because it actually cleans the face and does not have an alcohol base in it like Sea Breeze (which strips the skin of moisture). The cleanser is for normal to dry.

Clarisonic Opal

Clarisonic Opal Sonic Infusion System in White and Black
I want one of these REAL BAD!!! They make the but I went this Opal Infusion one. The opal is for anti-aging (which most of the people I work with say I'm crazy because I look about 6 years younger than I am ) and the serum in it is suppose to help make you skin look younger and refreshed.

Revision Intellishade
Intellishade Broad-Spectrum SPF 45
The girls that I work with swear by this. Its a moisturizer, sunscreen, and tint all in one. I know that some people use the matte one and just put powder on and go. I am going to get it to see what it does to my skin because I usually only wear sunscreen since moisturizer and sunscreen can be super oily.

I know this post was a whole lot about skincare but I'm around it all day long and at least I'm not talking about lipo or botox. Until next time, Laters.....

What I've been up to: Part 1

Hello again the few people who actually read my blog (or I would hope someone is reading it). I have been working a lot, which I can't complain about though because I did get a free facial which was considered "training". Anywho, I have been shopping a great deal lately since I finally am not on the super poor train anymore. Here are a few of the things I have bought recently.

               Lucky Charm Necklace

           Georgette High-Low Skirt
I bought this skirt in the black and the coral. Never thought I would buy any but I love both of these and I wear them with boot, heels and my wedges.

                       Anchor Studs

                  Kylie Wedge Pump
I have literally been wearing these everyday since I bought these.
 Womens DexterWomen's Kylie Wedge Pump
                Fila Running Shoes
So, I have a big foot (size 11) and I fit great. I really just needed a pair to wear to the gym so these totally fit the criteria.
FILA Soar 2 Wide Running Shoes - Women
I mainly have been trying to find work clothes and shoes since my outfits have to be 80% black and I can only stand in 4 inch heels for so long. I am for real going to try to blog on a semi-regular basis. PROMISE!!!! Until we meet again. Laters.......

Snack time

So, I am "working out" meaning I am going to the gym 3 times a week right now (going to start going at least 5 times a week for real, PROMISE!!!) which I guess is good but the point of this post is about some of the foods that I have been snacking on.

Since I am now working full-time now I have to make my snacks and lunches in advance (trying to save money not eating out and not buy stupid i.e. non-essential items) I have been finding some new snack. Here are some of things that have become my snack staples:

Brookside Chocolate:
Dark Chocolate Açai
If you have never tried these you should. The Dark Chocolate Acai with Blueberry is amazing. Like super good. The Dark Chocolate Pomegranate they are still tasty but I know that everyone likes the taste of Pomegranate which leads me to the second the second snack...

POM Wonderful

POM

POM Blueberry

I usually drink the 8oz ones throughout the day. They have a number of other flavors: Cherry, Cranberry, Mango, and my personal Favorite Blueberry (which I use as a mixer sometimes).

Popped rice snacks
Quaker Popped - Caramel Corn
Quaker Popped - Chocolate

They still make these in regular rice cake form I think but I started eating these again even though they do not make my favorite kind anymore (they use to have a chocolate chip one with the chips in them) I still like the chocolate with peanut butter on them on occasion.

Buddy Fruits
apple_chips_fuji_apple
pure_fruit_bite_orange

I saw these at the store and thought I would try them. The orange bites are yummy and for someone who is not suppose to eat while working (this girl right here) these are easy to store. They have different flavors and products. I know these are for the little kiddies but I like them so that all that's matter.

Totally going to try to blog more than I am (I know I kinda suck at the moment). Until next time, Laters.....

Yes, it is Britney, Bitch. I love me some Brit-Brit and old school Britney always makes me happy so happy Sunday people. Until next time, Laters.....

Wine-down Wednesday

Happy Hump Days Peeps!!! With it being Wednesday and all I thought I would talk about one of my favorite things: wine. I'm going to just let you know about some of the wine I use to buy at World Market (the city I leave in now does not have one and the nearest one if Birmingham). I tend to drink Mosacto, sweet ones, and a red or two on occasion. Here are some of the wines that are my favorite:

redtree moscato
Redtree Mosacto

Schmitt Söhne Riesling

Opera Prima Tempranillo (2008), a La Mancha Tempranillo by J. Garcia Carrion La Mancha
Opera Prima Tempranillo

Rex Goliath Wines
Rex Goliath Wine (tried all but the Moscato, which is new)

And this wine from Easley Winery is some of my absolute favorite. My roommate from college (who you hear a lot about) is from Indianapolis and she would bring my 2-3 bottle each time that she would comeback to Florence from holidays and vacations. The one I usually drink which is the Reggae Red is a bit sweet but they have wine for each type of wine-drinker.

The three types in the Reggae line:White, Blush, and Red
During the Spring and Summer (at least I know they did a couple of years ago) they had a Blackberry and Raspberry dessert wine that was pretty good. It went really well with molten chocolate cake or any form of chocolate for that matter.

Anywho, that is all for now. Everyone enjoy the last Wednesday of January (hopefully I won't get blown away by the weather here) and until next time, Later....
