Morning make-up routine

Depending on the day and time usually depends on how much make up I wear. Without fail I always at least wear mascara, concealer, and some lip color. I am going to share with y'all my make-up routine. Here is a picture of me without any make-up:

Before applying my make-up I wash my face with Revision skincare Brightening Face wash.

I then apply my D.E.J eye cream. I usually apply this in the morning and before I go to bed.

Lastly my moisturizer called Multi-protection broad spectrum with SPF 50.
I mainly use Revision Skincare if you haven't noticed that.

When applying my make-up, I start with a primer called Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water. They have it in two sizes: the one linked and a smaller travel version (which is pictured) for $16. I like that I can spray it to set my make-up in the morning and carry it with me to freshen my make-up throughout the day. If you do not like the spray, they have the original which is the Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer. The large is a little more than the spray but it has a $16 travel size as well.

Next, I put on my foundation which is Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Foundation. For me, it does not feel as heavy on my skin as other foundations I have tried. I put it everywhere but around my eyes.

Next, I use Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. I pretty much use this everyday since I have undereye circle due to my allergies. It works great on covering those and blemishes. I go through this once every 3 to 4 months which isn't that bad for using it everyday.

After that I put on my mascara. Bare Minerals Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara.  I received some of this as a gift for Christmas last year and have been using every since. If lengthening your lashes and making them look fuller is what you want out of a mascara, then this is the one I would suggest trying. At $18, I liked it better than some of the more expensive ones that I tried in the past.

Lastly, I put my eyeliner one. The liner I use is from the Sephora collection which is their Classic Line 24HR Felt Eyeliner. The tip is not to thin or too think. Personally, I like liner that tips are like those Uni-ball pen tips which, this remind me of those.

Also, I just got my free birthday gift from Sephora which ended up being two Nars lip pencils. I actually have been using them as lipstick instead of lip liner due to the way it looks after I put it on.

And here is the end result is this:

Shiny Kiss Flavored Gloss
Just use a tiny bit of the gloss though because if you use more than that it will be super shiny and sticky.

I know that some of these products are little pricey but Skincare is one of the areas that I spend a good amount of money. I tend to keep most of these for 3-6 months or until I run out of the product (except for the face wash which is the supersized one that I have had for about 6 months). I consider it a good investment to buy some really great make-up and skincare products that you like.

I would love to hear about some of the products that you use in you daily routines.

Everyone have a great rest of your Tuesday.

Victoria's Secret sales

While I am "remodeling" I wanted to tell all of you about the great sales that Victoria's Secret has going on right now. They have their sport bras, which I love for $35. Here are two of my favorites:
Knockout by Victoria’s Secret Front-Close Sport Bra
The Knockout is a great bra for a girl who needs extra support when exercising. I wear this when I am running or doing weights.

Angel by Victoria's Secret Sport Bra
The Angel is for those who need support but not a great amount. This is great for a jog or lower impact exercise.

They also are having their annual swimsuit sale and one of their clearance sales.

Oh, and all their panties including pink are 7 for $27.

If you haven't already checked out the sale I would suggest doing it when you get a chance. I know especially with the sports

bras they are a great buy if you workout a great deal like I do. And everyone lives a Victoria's Secret sale.

Until next time

Redo

Hello all,

It has been a few months (about three and half to be exact). Between the week of jury duty that I had to do, the whole month of February that I was out of school for about three days each week, work, and all my school projects I had, I have been a definite blog slacker.

I know that I have said that I was going to revamp the blog and this time I an 100% for real. I have actually taken the first step in doing this by changing the name of the blog. And today I did the second step by changing my URL. It is now my name vulnaviajohnson.com. So, throughout the rest of May there are going to be little changing here and with it being completely done in June. The month of June is fitting considering my birthday is at the beginning of the month (yay to 33).

Here's to new beginnings (really this time) and I hope everyone is enjoying spring unlike me who can't breathe between the Alabama humidity/pollen happening. Anyway, until next time: Have fun in the sun and enjoying life all.

Cooking Southern: Pimiento Cheese

I will be the first to admit that I never liked pimento cheese because it kind of scared me a little. I know that is crazy but, I think it was because I never really knew what was in it until a few years ago. Now knowing what goes in it is partly why I chose it as the first recipe from the cookbook ( I have a deep love affair with cheese). With this recipe I made it to my liking so the amount that I gave is what I used.

Pimiento Cheese

1- 4oz jar diced Pimientos, drained
1-8oz bag Sharp cheddar
1-8oz bag Pepper jack
1 & 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. grated onion (I used ground onion powder)
1/4 tsp. ground red pepper

 side note:
-the book says to grate two 8oz blocks of cheddar. I subbed the extra sharp called for in the book with the jack to give it an extra kick
-1/4 tsp. of paprika (sprinkled on top)

Instructions
1) Drain the pimientos juice from jar.
2) Empty both bag of cheese in a bowl together.
3) Add the 1 & 1/2 of mayo to the cheese mixture.
4) Add pimientos to the cheese/mayo mixture. Stir together.
5) Stir in the next three ingredients into the bowl. Mix thoroughly.

Overall, this was really easy to make. You just have to have about 10 minutes free to make it. Also, I made a grilled cheese sandwich with it what I had leftover.

That's it for now. Until next time, Laters!!!!!

Accessories:Forever 21

Hi all, since it is getting cold outside here in the AL (depending on the day since yesterday it was 62) I thought it would be a great idea to show some of the accessories i.e. scarves and hats that I recently purchased.

Forever 21 is one of my go-to for accessories without spending a ridiculous amount on them. I will be the first to admit that I love scarves. I mean I love them ALOT. There is a combination of men and women accessories listed below. Here are some of the ones that I bought and others that I am probably going to get/ borrow:

These are actually on sale right now for $5

I also bought two wool berets in store (they are not available on the website). If you are into plaid/tartans, there are some more scarves available. There are a variety of hats available, but they are currently wait-listed:

I hope everyone has a great Monday. Until next time, Laters

Cooking Challenge

Happy New Year, everyone. Starting this month, I am adding a new section to my blog. I have always loved to cook so I decided to display some of my cooking skills. With that being said, the new section is going to surround around me cooking different recipes from the Southern Living cookbook: Southern Living's 1001 ways to cook Southern.

You can purchase this for $34.95 at Barnes and Noble but I bought mine for $20.00 at Books A Million. You can get the book for even less online for $17.47 (with a club membership card). To make the BAM deal sweeter, they included 6 issues of Southern Living Magazine for free.

I am going to be posting pictures and the recipes for each of the recipes I complete as well as some other recipes from there and other cookbooks on here. I have made 6 so far and it going well. Also, this is an excuse to use one of my new toys:

my new Kitchen Aid Mixer
I technically only paid $199.98 plus tax for it after Sam's club took $50 off in store (making it $249.98) and then a $50 mail-in rebate. Kohl's and Sam's both have the one I bought for $299 (which is a deal if you know how much these mixers usually cost).
KitchenAid Professional HD Stand Mixer - Assorted Color Options

I still had the $10 one that I bought at Target from when I got my first Undergrad degree. I like using this one because you can process all the items in one swoop instead of have to stop, empty it out and reload the bowl. FYI: even though they say it is online only, my mom bought this at one of the Kohl's in our area.

I am super excited to share with all of you what I am cooking and how the recipes turn out. Until next time, Laters.....

A change is coming............

Hello all those in blog land,

I really am the worse at blogging ever. I said it was time for a change and that is taking place in the next couple of weeks. The first thing that you will notice is that I changed the name of my blog to On The Dime. I think that is pretty accurate of how I have lived much of my young adult to somewhat "adult" life: On The Dime. I will be writing more about ways to save money in all aspect of life (which is what I have always done).

I also made some changes in my life such as quitting one of my jobs....... It needed to be done a long time ago but I finally grew a pair and did it. Another thing that you will see more of on the blog also is healthy eating and exercise tips since I have developed high blood pressure because I have been so stressed out since I last wrote in August.

I am excited about all the new changes that are going to take place and it is kind of fitting since the year is about to end. This year was an interesting one for me to say the least and this is the start of something new and I am stoked about it all.

Everyone have a great Thursday and until next time, Later.
